اختتمت السيدة كيت فوربس رئيسة الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات الصليب الأحمر والهلال الأحمر و د. حسام الشرقاوي المدير الاقليمي للاتحاد والوفد المرافق زيارتهم لمقر الجمعية في البيرة، اجتمعوا خلالها مع رئيس الجمعية د. يونس الخطيب واستمعوا الى الطاقم وابرز البرامج التي تقدمها الجمعية لخدمة المواطنين في الضفة الغربية والقطاع كالإسعاف و العمل المجتمعي والتأهيل والصحة النفسية وإدارة مخاطر الكوارث، كما تم بحث سبل تعزيز جهود الجمعية في دعم واسناد المواطنين في قطاع غزة جراء العدوان المتواصل وأبرز التحديات التي تواجه الطواقم العاملة هناك ومن بينها استهداف الاحتلال لطواقم الاسعاف خلال تأديتهم لعملهم الانساني في انقاذ المصابين .
والتقت السيدة كيت بمتطوعي الجمعية واستمعت الى تجاربهم في التطوع ببرامج الجمعية المختلفة.
وتأتي هذه الزيارة عقب زيارة وفد الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات الصليب الاحمر والهلال الاحمر برفقة الدكتور يونس الخطيب الاسبوع الماضي لقطاع غزة .
Mrs. Kate Forbes, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and Dr. Hossam Elsharqawi, Regional Director of the @ifrc , along with the accompanying delegation, concluded their visit to the PRCS headquarters in Ramallah. During the visit, they met with the PRCS’s president, Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, and listened to the staff and the prominent programs provided by PRCS to serve the citizens in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, such as Emergency Medical Services, community work, rehabilitation, psychosocial support, and disaster risk management.
They also discussed ways to enhance the PRCS’s efforts in supporting and alleviating the suffering of people in #Gaza Strip due to the ongoing war on Gaza and the main challenges facing the working teams there, including the Israeli occupation’s targeting of ambulance crews while performing their humanitarian work in rescuing the injured.
Mrs. Kate also met with the PRCS’s volunteers and listened to their experiences in volunteering for various PRCS programs . This visit comes after the visit of the delegation of the IFRC accompanied by Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, to the Gaza Strip last week.
